Referral partner terms
Plain language, about a three-minute read.
These are the rules for sharing Stringham Web Design and earning a referral fee. They're short on purpose. If anything here is unclear, text me at 413-454-3509 before you share.
What you earn
20% of the website build price in your client's written quote. On a $1,500 website, that's $300.
Only the website build counts. Website Care (the monthly hosting and upkeep plan), the Listing Fix, and any other add-ons or monthly fees don't count toward it.
When you get paid
Within 14 days after your client pays for their website in full. If a client pays in parts, the fee is paid after the last payment. If a client never pays in full, or their payment is refunded, there's no fee.
How you get credit
When someone opens your link, this site remembers your code in their browser for 90 days. If they run the checkup and ask me to look at their site, or ask for a quote, within those 90 days, I see that it came from you.
If they reach me another way (they call, or they type the address in), have them mention your name, or introduce us by email. I'll credit you.
If two partners refer the same business, credit goes to whoever's link or introduction reached me first.
Your link carries only your code, never your name, email or phone.
Always say you earn a fee
Every time you share, say that you earn a referral fee if they hire me. The FTC expects paid recommendations to be disclosed, and it's the right thing to do. This works:
Free website checkup from my web designer, Kyle. (I get a referral fee if you hire him.)
The business is told about the fee too, and it never changes their price.
Share honestly
- No spam. Don't send bulk emails or texts to people who didn't ask, don't buy lists, and don't post your link over and over.
- Follow each site's rules. Many communities don't allow referral links, Reddit communities that ban them for example, and many Facebook groups. Where they're not allowed, don't post them.
- Don't promise results. I don't promise rankings or a number of new customers, so you can't either. Don't make up reviews, prices or claims about my work.
- Be yourself. Don't pretend to be me or my business, and don't run ads on my business name.
Ending a partnership
You can stop sharing anytime. I can end a partnership for misleading promotion or for breaking these terms. If I do, I'll tell you why.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version applies to shares made after the change, and I'll update the date below.
