This page explains what I collect when you use this site, why, who else touches it, and how to get rid of it. It's written the way I'd explain it on a call, because a policy you can't read protects nobody.
Who I am
I'm Kyle Stringham. I run Stringham Web Design LLC out of League City, Texas. Questions about anything here, or about what I hold on you: email kyle@stringhamwebdesign.com. It comes to me, not a support queue.
What I collect, and why
When you use the contact form. Your name, your email, your business name, what you need, and your message. I use it to reply to you and to scope the work. That's the whole purpose. It goes to my inbox, and nowhere else.
When you sign up as a referral partner. Your name, email, phone if you give it, how you know business owners, and the code you pick. I use it to credit you for referrals and to pay you. Your code is the only part that ever appears in a link.
When you just visit. Pages you view, links you click, how far you scroll, roughly where in the world you are, and what browser and device you're on. The next section covers this in full.
I don't ask for anything I don't need. There's no account to create, and no newsletter collecting addresses for later.
Analytics and session replay
This site uses Microsoft Clarity to understand how people actually use it. Clarity records page views, clicks, scrolling, and session replays, a reconstruction of how a visit moved through the site, so I can see where a page confuses people and fix it.
Form fields are masked. Clarity's default masking is on, and nothing on this site turns it off. What you type into the contact form is not captured in a replay.
It uses cookies to recognise a returning visitor across pages and sessions.
Microsoft is the one processing this, under their own terms. Their privacy statement is the authoritative document.
Opting out
- Block cookies for this site in your browser settings. Clarity can't string a session together without them.
- Use a private or incognito window. The cookies die with the window.
- Email me and say you don't want to be recorded. I'll tell you exactly what I did about it.
None of these change what the site does for you.
Referral links
If someone shared a link with you that ends in ?ref= and a short code (like ?ref=maria-cpa), this site remembers that code for 90 days, in a first-party cookie called swd_ref and in your browser's local storage. If you then ask for a quote or a checkup review, the code goes along with your request so I know who to thank. It's only the code: never your name, email or phone, and the link itself never carries anyone's personal details. To clear it, delete this site's cookies and site data in your browser.
Who else handles your data
- Vercel hosts the site. Every page you load is served by them, so their servers see your requests and IP address.
- Supabase stores referral partner signups and the requests that came in through a partner's link, so I can track and pay referral fees.
- Resend delivers email. A contact-form message passes through them on the way to my inbox.
- Microsoft Clarity, as above.
Each of these holds data because it needs it to do its job, and none of them get it to sell.
How long I keep things
Contact messages. If we end up working together, your message becomes part of the project record and I keep it for the life of the project plus a year. If we don't, I delete it two years after you sent it. Ask sooner and I'll delete it sooner.
Analytics. Microsoft holds this on their own retention schedule, which I don't control.
Email. Correspondence sits in my inbox the way any business email does. I clear out old threads periodically.
Your rights
Ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email kyle@stringhamwebdesign.com and I'll answer within a few business days. "What do you have on me?" is a complete request.
What I don't do
I don't sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. I don't run ads on this site. I don't use what you send me to train anything.
Children
This site is for people hiring someone to build a website. It isn't directed at children and isn't meant for anyone under 13. If you think a child has sent me something through this site, email me and I'll delete it.
Changes to this page
If what I do with data changes, I'll change this page and update the date at the top. I won't quietly start doing something new under an old policy.
